Completion of NUVALI Phase 1 set in 2009

Sustainable living is now within reach as Ayala Land showcases the completed Phase 1 development of NUVALI.

Spanning the cities of Santa Rosa and Calamba, Laguna, NUVALI is envisioned as the country's first eco-community, a 1,700 hectare mixed-use development that seamlessly integrates nature, technology and people to provide a fresh approach to balanced and sustainable living.

Highlighting this blend of the commercial, residential and recreational developments, NUVALI's phase 1 plan includes the Lakeside Evozone, a technologically advanced commercial hub, the Evoliving Center, leisure amenities and four residential communities that cater to various market segments, providing a wealth of choice for those looking for sustainable lifestyle options.

Punctuating NUVALI's capacity to seamlessly weave together life, nature and technology is the multi-functional 4-hectare lake situated near the community's entrance. The scenic lake not only adds to the picturesque views of the area but also serves as a rainwater catchment basin that provides water for non-human uses such as landscape irrigation, toilet flushing or for washing cars. The lake is also a congregation area for work, and leisure activities as it is bordered by the premier business are of NUVALI, the Lakeside Evozone.

Named a Special Economic Zone by the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), the 46-hectare Lakeside Evozone brings to life NUVALI's promise of economic sustainability.

It is a carefully conceptualized business hub with well-thought out facilities and infrastructures such as retail shops, transport terminal, telecom redundancy, a central sewage treatment plant and underground utilities in a campus-type setting with generous open spaces, and dedicated pedestrian and bike lanes.

The Lakeside Evozone will have three campuses. The maiden development is NUVALI Technohub wherein the first infrastructure, One Evotech, has been operational since January with Convergys.

One Evotech integrates sustainable features consistent with NUVALI's overall vision. The bike ramp enables employees to bike their way to the upper floors which discourages the use of elevators. The stairs are also strategically located to have access and views to the scenic, open areas, encouraging a healthier way of moving about.

It is also constructed based on world-class standards , addressing the specific design requirements of BPOs such as data redundancy, 100% back-up power, high-speed and large capacity elevators. It also provides retail and support amenities such as BPI, 7-Eleven, Kanin Get It, Bona Coffee Company, Reyes Barbque, Indulgence Day Spa, to attend to the locators' unique 24/7 operations.

The retail center at the Lakeside Evozone also provides even more opportunities for rest and relaxation. Residents and visitors will soon be able to snack and shop after work at Contis Pastry Shop and Restaurant, Domo Tomo, Florabel, McDonalds, Nature Cafe, Yellow Cab, Timezone, National Bookstore, Mercury Drug and many more.

Also recently completed is NUVALI's Evoliving Center. A green building intended to showcase NUVALI's development and sustainability efforts, it is in itself an example of the latest in green design and architecture. Built with responsible consciousness for applicable LEED standards, green features include the use of low-emissivity glass and green roof for efficient cooling, the use of external insulation and finish system (EIFS) for more effective heat insulation and sun-shading to avoid direct sunlight, and the use of energy efficient appliances and fixtures.

Turnover for Avida Settings NUVALI is set this year. Close to Avida Settings, and right beside Treveia is the soon-to-rise Xavier School, NUVALI. With construction commencing in 2010, the completion is sceduled for 2012. Together with two more residential developments, Abrio and Montecito, NUVALI's commitment to provide all the essentials spark a new, vibrant community that will lay the foundation for the future of sustainable living creates equal opportunity to enjoy an evolved way of living.

"NUVALI is more than just well-designed residential developments; it will integrate a whole range of land uses meant to support and sustain communities-today and in the future. It is planned as an 'eco-community' that seamlessly melds residential, business, educational, recreationsl, and institutional facilities within a functional and green infrastructural framework," said Jun Bisnar.
